hi we have had a vsmart for a week.all day the tempreture is set @ 22. It's struggling to reach 22. In the last 4 hours it's been stuck @ 21

Well it is very smart, maybe it's realised the idiocy of having the heating on in the middle of summer and is now ignoring you...

OP, have you managed to sort this out?

I'm thinking of getting the vSmart system, but not if it means it wont heat my house up!!

Yes it needs 2 week to train itself! It’s excellent. If you got a modern vaillant you can’t beat it as it has weather compensation.

It gets temp very accurate, tells you how much kWh you are using.

It has a away mode which you can press when you are out.

It supports IFTTT. My alarm sends a email when I’m out or in. This email is picked up and sets it to away or home
Mode when I am in.

You can also get IFTTT to do location based triggers if you want.

So if you got modern vaillant yes. If your boiler don’t support weather comepnsation(it’s not a modern eco tec) tado is best.

That's a great review of vsmart. I wondered if you were being sarcastic as I read your post as I'm reading a lot of negativity about the opereation of vsmart.

Do we know where vSmart gets the outside temp from?
I know it gets it from the internet, but I mean where on the internet? i.e. which forecasting service? Accuweather, BBC etc?

Last time I looked it was Netamo. They have around 250 stations in the UK. I THINK that equates to over 350sq.miles per station. If you have the facility I'd suggest a hard wired or second choice an RF sensor. Internet weather is normally a calculation whereas your property might be exposed or sheltered and the input would be of less relevance. Weather information service providers can and will change.

I suppose if you've got the vSmart system installed, there isn't a way to have it read an actual external temp sensor?

It's because the OP has form. Classed here by professional members as "purveyor of muppetry and BS".

But, even a stopped clock tells the correct time twice a day.
Well I now have gained good knowledge of how smart thermostat work. What’s wrong in me advising ?

A very generalised comment. Yes I have come on this forum for help. And I’ve been helped.

But it terms of the functionality of the major thermostats. I know which is the best

Tell us oh wise one. How many have you tested? And on what system?
Some I am aware of the feature and user feedback such as hive and best. I’ve fitted a vsmart and tado. Please read my previous post regarding which is best.

Tonsimerise. Always go for the boiler manufacturer branded one if they support weather compensation. If not use tado.
