Vulcan 45/60 ignition

Boiler will not ignite; there is sparking between the HT lead where it connects to the electrode on outer casing and the boiler body (cast iron) itself; the spark is not passing through into the chamber to ignite the gas.
What has happened and what do I do about it?

The ignition lead insulation has broken down and needs replacing

Take the silver plug out and light it with a match
