I have VW Golf TDI. Over the last few weeks I’ve come back to the vehicle having not used it for a few days and found that the battery is dead. I have to jump start it. I then drive it and park it up and then come back to it the same day and it start’s OK. It seems if I leave it for more than a day the battery goes flat, could the alternator have gone?

Thanks

It's most likely to be the battery, but go and have them both checked out at
Halfords or Motorworld for free.

;)

Disconnect the battery after a long run in daylight hours.
Negative (-) terminal is best. At this stage you probably have your radio code if needed.
Reconnect after a test period and the car should start? If not its the battery.
If it does start, then you have something in the car running the battery down.

Probably just bad battery as above.
