I’m looking at installing a 1000mm shower screen. The screen I am looking at is 8mm thick toughened glass which comes with a cross bar arm for the open end for the glass to be braced to the opposite wall. My question is, how does the bottom (open bit) actually not move if the mounting is only at the top (using the arm) and the back where the screen is mounted to the wall.

I’ve seen some screens that require tray drilling but I don’t want to be ruining my tray. So just wondering if the screen is strong enough just being held by that arm at the top.

Yes just like this .Just be very carefully placing it onto tray , it can shatter roughly handled .

Thank you.

I’m assuming I don’t need to put silicone under the glass where it will go and sit on the tray? But instead run a bead of silicone afterwards between the tray and the glass edge on both sides?
