Wall hanging toilet not secure, can i fix this myself

evening all, just looking for some advice regarding a wall hanging toilet that a plumber (now retired) fitted for us about 8 yrs ago. Perhaps I've had too many pies and perhaps ive added a few pounds, but I noticed that the plaster around it cracked and there is some movement to it when you sit on it, its still secure as far as i can tell.

I found some photos of the original install, but even the nuts underneath dont look loose at all. Not sure where to start, i guess undo the nuts underneath and slide the toilet off the thread and then look at the frame?

Is it simple as that? anything i should watch out for?

morning all, is there a specific spanner for this type of installation. I have a socket set and they wont fit the thread to get to the nut. my adjustable spanners seem to big or there isnt alot of room there to move.

Also ive arrowed a plastic type washer that looks as if its crooked where the nut sits, do you think it looks as if the whole thing needs taking off and investigating why the washer is sitting the way it is. surely that has to sit flush?

That's why it's gone loose, the plastic washers have been compressed and slipped through into the hole. With wall hung pans the washers, both plastic and steel are well oversized so they can't slip into the hole. I'm afraid to say that the pan will need to come off and the plastic washers replaced with large ones. Don't just try to tighten the nuts up up as you could end up cracking the pan.

great thankyou that makes sense. Cant even get a spanner on it. Borrowed a neighbours ratchet spanner in both 17mm and 19mm and too small and big so perhaps 18mm. I guess this might be a job for a plumber now lol

Kneel on the floor and bring it forward onto the top of your thighs is the best way to maneuver these... Specially the disabled pans!

well I got the toilet off, thanks to everyone so far.
Ended up using this type of tool but on its own no bar or anything as there wasnt the room.

So its off, ive taken some pictures of the washers, what are these things called to search for, we dont know the make/brand of toilet to check.

Unfortunately a lot of the fixing kits are specific to the frame or the pan. I would maybe look to reuse them and use large oversized nylon washer at the back and large penny washers on the front to sandwich the old opne properly.

Was it a gerbit frame or just a generic one? If there was a manufacturer then they may be able to supply the corrcet ones.
