Is it plasterboard on top of a solid wall, or a stud wall?
Good way to check is poke your screw driver in, and see how far it goes before you hit something.
If its solid about 20-30mm back, probably a solid wall that's been dotted and dabbed
If you don't hit anything for quite a while 50mm+, it's probably studwork.
Both require slightly different approaches
