on decorating a bedroom at home , going to wall paper wall were head boards go against with a floral pattern, wall measures around 2900mm wide by 2400mm high, question ive got were will be the correct place to start
middle , from a corner any help would be appreciated

if its a large pattern print , start in the middle . Find the centre by measuring in from both sides and draw a vertical line with plumbob or spirit level and paper from this line .

Thats not always the case...if the pattern is non symetrical it wont work...you have to set it out differently so it creates a balanced effect.
