Wall tiles

I was looking at some tiles that come ion different sizes. I was thinking of tiling them so that they were kind of staggered, in other words the grout joints would not run inline vertically and horizontally. Would this look naff or has anyone done it this way before?

if its a fixed pattern it can look good, there are plenty of floors that have staggered grout lines due to patterns
