Advice please. After a recent boiler (Baxi) /Gas fire service ,I have been told we need to install a room/ wall vent or floor vent. There is an existing vent at the back of the boiler from the chimney/outside wall is this no longer adequate ? If I need to put a room wall vent does in does it have to be a certain size and type and at what height does this have to be situated?

Your boiler installation manual will probably have details on the amount of airflow required.

Are you sayng that the chimney which takes the flue gases from the boiler/fire, is vented to outside behind the appliance? That could be very dangerous.
You need a vent, size depending on the power of the appliances, to let air in the front. Vent could be in the wall or floor. Sounds ike the other one MUST be permanently closed first.
