My dear husband is not too hot on DIY (I can't complain, neither am I) and a few months ago he re-papered our lounge.

He's at the age where his eyesight is starting to change, and he really needed to wear his reading glasses to do the job properly. He didn't (I did suggest it, several times, but to no avail!)

So now we have wallpaper that is bubbled in several places. I have put up with it until now, in the vain hope that they would eventually dry out. But they haven't. And with lights on (they are high up, close to the ceiling, they look awful.

Is it too late to do something to get rid of them?

Any advice welcome!

sounds like he didnt allow the paper to soak before hanging it, did he read the instructions as this would have advised how long it needed to soak for.

If the wall paper is heavily patterned I dont think theres a lot you can do about it but if the area where the bubbles are is plain you could use a sharp craft knife to cut a cross in each bubble and then glue the flaps down with lapping adhesive. This could end up making it look far worse though so its up to you really unless anybody else knows of any other solutions.

Did he "read the instructions"? Of course he didn't, he's a man  (wow, apologies for mass generalisation there!)

No, he would have needed his reading glasses for that, so he didn't bother with that. He has hung wallpaper up before, successfully, which is why I am blaming his eyesight for this mishap.

I'm not sure cutting into it will help - it is textured paper with vertical lines down, so overlapping them might show them up more, not less.

I might have a go at one though, when he's not around, to see if it works.

Thanks for your help.
