Hello, I'm new here and wondered if someone could help me. I am decorating our house again (after 7 years) and am coming across all my previous mistakes! I would like to get it right this time. I have just stripped the kitchen wallpaper and the backing paper has stayed on - do I need to strip this as well, or can I hang the new wallpaper straight on to it. Cheers, Maggie

although you may get away with leaving it on ,and some papers claim that the backing is fine to paper back over ,
I would always strip it all off and start again its the only way to be sure you've got a sound surface to repaper on :D

Thanks Benno, I figured I would have to, but hoped not. Now attempting to fit a monobloc mixer tap and failing miserably lol
