hello cott as robbie said with lining paper you can start anywhere becuase you dont have to match a patterns. what i do is always start with a full drop dont start around a window reveal becuase it will be hard to get the paper dead straight so if you start with a full drop you can work from that lenth as the straight line, hope this helps carl
where to start paper can be pretty tricky. but as a rule you always start on the wall that projects from a window and is normally the furthest away from when you enter or look at the room(this is because if there are any joints that overlap you you don't see the over lap or joint). but i might also add if you are hanging an expensive or detailed pattern paper it may pay to play around a little ( to continue a certain pattern or design). first off all cut a bit off paper off the roll and work yourself around the room marking where the next piece will fall i.e will it fall that an inch piece of paper goes in the corner or that you have to hang a full lengh of paper over a rad or something tricky to cut around. plan ahead and you will find that its alot easier than marching ahead and putting your wallpaper up and getting stuck half way through
