Is that an optional extra? I have today lived in three houses, and been connected with them from new, so no real surprises, within month should move so wonder what I will find?
They did use a junction box.
Whoever did my kitchen just used a bit of cardboard and then plastered over it. Same shade of bilious yellow paint though.
