I am learning Excel. I need some practise and was wondering if anyone out there needed a spreadsheet making up that would help them and give me some much needed practise.

Nothing too complicated please.

Personally I dont, but once you get your head around it can be used for almost anything.

Learn Macros, how to mail-merge and the basic LOOKUP tables. The help function will assist you a lot once you get to grips with the basics. 'VLOOKUP' 'IF' 'OR' 'SUM' 'CONCATENATE' 'AND' and brackets in the right places will help you enourmously. The rest are easily worked out when you devise a spreadsheet that needs them.

Im assuming your not trying to work out CUT & PASTE, DATASORT and the real basic stuff.

I'm just getting a little worried about you mate. Are you totally naive, living in another world or on a con of some sort?

I reckon they've left some ice in his skull following his defrost from the cryonics!

John,
try doing a spreadsheet for your utility bills for the past 5 years or so. This will enable you to do graphs and see how your usage/costs have changed over this period. If you have got a record of your bills for 5 years try your wages on a weekly basis for the last 12 months to achieve the same kind of thing. This is what I was taught many years ago but don't do it very often these days so have forgotten a lot.

If as bolo says, you're really serious, start with trying to workout the amount of posts you have made since you joined this forum. Probably keep YOU going for a few weeks.

Can you devise me a spreadsheet of the winning lottery numbers, both lotto and euromillions for the period 22/4/09 - 31/12/09 pls. Ta, much appreciated.

If you asked him to do the same period LAST YEAR he'd be stumped Eddie. I'm not sure whether he's a full shilling! :?

Then post it for us to use.

I've got "date" and "reading" tabulated for a few years, it would be interesting to see a graph of "average use per day between readings" and "cumulative use per year" comparing different years with different colours.

For the Gas chart, you could show "cu metres" per the meter and "kWh Used" which you can calculate

Then you can add Costs from the Higher and Lower usage charges, which vary over time, and I suppose you would have to look up prices per date from a reference table

If you really are serious, this is just one of the examples of what you can get if you Google 'Spreadsheet Exercises'.

Thanks Bolo, I will take a look and see what they have.

I am always amazed that when someone bothers to teach themselves something like Excel and then askes for help consolidating by asking for some hands on help, it brings out the morons who use the site. Or should that be Trolls. Whichever, I can only feel pity for the sad lives they must lead.

Cheers for the help.

How did you manage to get a further 156 posts by adding '502' to your user name?
