I have a 20 year old Delsey Club case, which has travelled thousands of miles with me on over 80 business trips, many to West Africa. It is still in good condition but the handle has broken and I don't want to throw away my faithful companion when I know somebody in the UK will have a spare handle for it. I have tried the official Delsey route, even calling their repair centre in France, to be told (as I expected) that you can't get spares for this old model any more.

What I need is somebody who has an old Delsey Club they can "break" for spares or who has a handle knocking around in their workshop.

Anybody got any ideas?

and i suppose you thought this would be an open and shut case?

ok, i'll get my coat

How is the handle broken?

If push comes to shove you may be able to repair with JB Weld (The 17 hour cure version is best; 4000 ib/sq inch tensile strength).

If you post some pics I might be able to suggest how to repair.

Thanks. The handle has snapped where it is attached to a spindle, on which it rotates. The break is a small highly stressed area and the material is some kind of polyethylene, so I don't reckon anything will fix it.

My company could easily buy me a new case but that's not the point is it? I don't want to throw away a perfectly good case for want of one small part.

If it helps you to understand my mindset, I also own a 22-y.o. Land Rover 90, which probably only has the chassis, bulkhead and engine as original!

Looking for a spare wheel for my Delsey Club Suitcase I came across your request. I suppose we can make one good case out of two here because I have one with a broken wheel, but the handle is good. How great is your need v mine....?

Ah! Well, I can get a new case at any time paid for by my employer, for whom I travel on business. My wheels aren't in top nick because the case has been battered around Africa for ten years since the last set of wheels, but they might do and if I'm going to end up throwing away the case then you're welcome to have them. I'll send you the locks too.

Email me on: reedy at orchardhouse dot fsworld dot co dot uk and we'll have a chat about it!

Hi, I know the last posting looking for Delsey parts was back in 2008, but I have a veteran Delsey Club suitcase that I am retiring after more than 25 years of faithful service as my traveling companion all over the world.
The locks (key) have suffered from the attentions of US homeland security but the latches still latch shut, I replaced both wheels two years ago after they finally succumbed to the baggage-handlers, and both handles are undamaged. I wouldn't be retiring this case but for a friend giving me a new Antler. Good home required.
Regards, warrior193. :)
