Hi
i bought some cupboards from ikea to install in my bedroom. i have a chimney breast, and on one side i cant fit the cupboards as they are 10cm over the space i have in that area.
the space width i have is 98cm, and the cupboard width is 110cm

now can i safely cut the cupboards to fit the space next to the chimney, and is it safe to cut the doors also??

this is the cupboards i have:

short answer is no
the long answer is its possible but will look carp will need strenthening and require more than basic woodwork skills

and the honest answer is if you have to ask in this instance you havnt got the skills ;)

if it was a part removal without reaching the door the effort /result would be ok but because you need to cut the door you will have chipboard exposed and the style missing on one side

could you live with a void behind and at least 50mm off the cabinet forward off the the breast front!!!
