wardrobe liquid damage

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me, my father recently tried to remove a sticker from an antique wardrobe but it has left a massive discoloration on one door. He claims he only used soap and water but it looks to me like he's used something a lot harsher perhaps bleech.

If anyone has any idea on how to repair the damage it'd be really appreciated, thanks.

Ruined, the water will have lifted the veneer, should have used a solvent to remove .

Thanks I thought as much, the annoying thing is I was going to be taking this wardrobe to my house in less than a week before my dad decided to destroy it.

Never realised that quilted maple veneer was so thin.

The good news is that you can pick up something like that at your local auction house for a few quid. They ain't popular.
