Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me, my father recently tried to remove a sticker from an antique wardrobe but it has left a massive discoloration on one door. He claims he only used soap and water but it looks to me like he's used something a lot harsher perhaps bleech.

I've attached some pictures to show the damage:

If anyone has any idea on how to repair the damage it'd be really appreciated, thanks.

Ruined, the water will have lifted the veneer, should have used a solvent to remove .

Thanks I thought as much, the annoying thing is I was going to be taking this wardrobe to my house in less than a week before my dad decided to destroy it. :(

Never realised that quilted maple veneer was so thin.

The good news is that you can pick up something like that at your local auction house for a few quid. They ain't popular.
