Wardrobe Doors Not Closing Properly

Hi

Last year I had a carpenter make me some built in wardrobes out of mdf. The doors are huge at 2.4m in height. He used some hinges (3 on each door) that are adjustable. However, something has gone wrong (we had our bedroom windows removed and before new ones were in place a huge gust of wind forced the wardrobe doors to swing open) and I think the hinges have been stretched or bent a little and we can't seem to adjust them.

A couple of the doors just won't close fully. I was thinking of using some magnets to help make them close up properly. Can anyone recommend a good strong magnet for this use?

you say you think the hinges are damaged.

Let's see a photo of the hinges please, and of the doors failing to close.

Why not just replace the hinges if they are the problem?

Sometimes the adjustment screws can move out of position if adjusted to far and then they are useless as you can't get them back in. If they've bent right back then maybe that has happened or there just Broken from the force. They're all a pretty standard hinge with a 35mm back but you need to make sure you get the right ones for your door type as you have inset where the door finishes flush with the edge of the division- half overlay where they overlap the edge of the division by half and full overlay where the door sits totally over the division. These hinges are really easy to change and You can buy these hinges from most shops- Screwfix, b and q etc, hafele website might be worth a look. Cheers
