Does this mean now that when anyone comes forward claiming to being abused about 30 or 40 years ago the alleged perpetrator will have his house searched by police in the hope that others will come forward or does it only apply to famous people?

I was abused at the age of 15 by an older woman(20y/o) I wouldn't dream of making accusations to the police 35 years later.
My only complaint would be it only happened the once
Going by the allegations against Cliff over the last 30/40 years, If it was me I would only be too pleased that the Police are taking it seriously and clear ones name, once and for all time !!!
The police often justify 'going public' by telling us that other possible victims of abuse come forward yet some cases are dropped or the accused get a 'not guilty' verdict.
I'd like the police and prosecution to be transparent and tell us how many actually came forward, how many were interviewed, how many the CPS decided not to prosecute their case and how many were proven to be bogus claims. Then the public could judge for themselves whether the practice of ' going public' was justified.
