Hi all,

I need to connect my central heating to the coil of a hot water cylinder. the fittings are screw tread and I have a conector. should there be fibre washers in the fittings?

If not should I use PTFE tape or plumbers white to make the joint?

Thanks.

I wodered if that was the case as I had no washers with the fittings, just wanted to be sure.

Thanks again for your help,
Ralph.

Hmmm... I have just tried the fitting on the tank and it runs all the way down the thread and is still running freely until it contacts the nut on the cylinder. is this correct?

I thought the fitting would get tighter as it went screwed down the thread.

Thanks again! I did not know you about liquid PTFE, sounds useful, i'm off to google it....

Ralph.

For all they cost you would be better buying the fittings in hispecs picture they are better than the ones you have and less likely to leak

I thought that was the wrong fitting... Is that not a tank fitting? I am more than happy to change the fittings if they are better...
