well i'm regularly going home and stuffing dirty plaster covered clothes into the washing machine these days, i get the worst off you understand but still leave plenty for the washing machine to deal with, should i be expecting my machine to have a significantly shorter lifespan these days?

Another top tip - buy a few cheap sets of clothes that you either sling away (can get kitted out for less than a tenner), or save them for one "big" wash every few days.

Go out window fitting for a few weeks in your work clothes. The plaster won't get anywhere near the cloth with all that silicone in the way. 8)

wear waterproofs and by a jet washer?

alternatively, get a "dolly tub" in the back garden and soak them in there first..

I buy cheap jogging bottoms from Peacocks and cheap t-shirts and tops. I get thru at least 4 sets of clothes a week and I throw them in the washer on Saturday morning and throw them in the dryer on the afternoon, And its a routine now for me I have been doing it for years and all my best T-shirts get used for work when they have all gone out of shape, and I wear D-walt lycra socks with my workin' boots,,,OOOOOHHHHH Lycra

i think i'm kinda doing the same thing Roy  cheap sports clothes and good sturdy socks, wear them all week and wash them the weekend, well my goo lady does most of the washing if i'm honest...ok well pretty much all of it!

just hoping the lumps of plaster that end up in the machine aren't going to bring its life to a premature end.

Luckily, after a kitchen refurb which entailed new washing machine and tumble drier to match (obviously necessary as my wife infomed me of this being the case  ), we have an old one in the garage for particular nasties.
