Washing Machine Recommendations

Intermittent operation, now a strong smell of burning and error codes on the display. Time for a new washing machine. Any recommendation on make/model? Washer only. 1600 rpm. A+++ energy rating. Must have half load and quick wash functions.

Only one can really be recommend--Miele.

All the rest are basically Crap and will only last you couple of years....

I agree. A bottom of the range Miele is as well-built as the most expensive Miele, just with fewer bells and whistles. Whereas a top of the range Zanussi, Indeshit, etc, is as big a pile of crap as the cheapest.

Our Miele has given us no grief for 8 years so far.

Yep! I have one of the newer TwinDos Miele machines and love it to bits! It gets all the filth out of my work clothes which my old machine never could, and is ever so quiet. The build quality of modern cheap washing machines is appauling.
