The Grohe tap on my bathroom basin corroded(!) at the base. (Grohe Quadra tap) This tap had an integrated linkage to open the waste. The new tap came with a slotted waste and a pop up plug. The basin does not have an integrated overflow and so I think I need a different waste. The old system had a mechanism for the linkage and a plastic piece that has an inlet to accommodate the flexible pipe from the overflow. The basin itself is an Atlanta Breeze.
Essentially, I need to know what waste kit will fit the basin and integrate the overflow pipe before linking into a standard trap.

Yeah, you need the unslotted version.

I have never come across a lever version which is unslotted, but hopefully a plumber will be along to give you a link to one.

That's a rarer type of setup, a basin with an external overflow and was probably bespoke. Can you post a couple of pics?

I do remember that Mcalpine did a 1.25" basin waste with an external overflow and so did Wirquin but they tended to be the old type waste with a chained plug, just search about and you'll find them

Have you been in touch with Atlanta themselves?

Well, the very helpful gentleman at City Plumbing Nottingham is confused as well as is very other plumber I have spoken to. The part number for the Atlanta Breeze 610mm Sit on basin is part number 627922. The original waste was for a Grohe tap that integrated a rod to raise the waste.

The Grohe tap corroded at the base which, it turns out, is a result of the way that the tap was chromed.

I just want to put in a 'Click-Clack' waste or similar.

The original waste was City Plumbing part number 222490. There is another part number with this which may be the Grohe one 32631000.

Edit: That Grohe # is the tap, not the waste.

I am not a plumber. I recently had to replace 2 click-clacks. One was slotted, the other wasn't. I had to go to two different plumbers' merchants. Fortunately they were next door to each other.

Edit... Please ignore. I thought that you were talking about a tap with rod linkages to the pop up waste.

Can I just check, your issue is that the basin has an external overflow which means there is a plastic piece that is connected to the overflow and then a flexi tube from that runs down to a connector on the waste below, something like this?

Looking at the tap though - it is a pop up waste basin mixer tap but that doesn't have an integrated overflow as part of the waste, it just has the hole for the rod for the pop up mechanism

We need pictures of what currently there to help more

i would not by click clack wastes - we have 4 of them and I have started to replace with a) the half turn ones and old fashioned plastic plugs
we live in a hardwater area and they just limescalup and difficult to un click - no clack
have to taken them out clean them all - then soak in limescale remover

this may not be what you want - but a mcalpine with a waste and seeve drainer

just purchased a few weeks ago and fitted into a sink and tested just using washers
now i need to fit the worktop

Here is the current setup. I have a slotted waste that came with the tap and, it turns out, should be a non slotted one. The white bit under the tap is part of the old Grohe setup and is a bodge to allow me to use the basin. It could be that putting a non slotted waste in will fix the minor leak but I am not happy about doing that. I could block the overflow but I have small grandchildren and that seems to me like a major risk.

OK - that basin looks like it does have an integrated overflow. So a slotted waste is what should be used. The current waste below the basin has the standard waste with the added pop up rod section at the back of it, would have originally come with the tap.

What would be needed is to take all that out and simply replace it with a new slotted, click clak, captive or other type of waste and a new standard monobloc mixer tap.
That's a 1 1/2" sink strainer waste, the OP is working with a 1 1/4" basin waste

Also, it definitely does not have an integrated overflow as well as not being a kitchen sink but is actually a bathroom basin as in OP.
I have a part number from the manufacturer (be modern Newcastle) for the waste which is 216585 but nobody seems to be able to use this part number either to identify anything or get a prices and be modern can't give me any information as I am not a dealer.
