Hi all, planning for a bathroom reno and have some concerns over the 'roman' bath - effectively a tiled shower with a tall hob and a waste outlet which can be plugged. Put the plug in and water fills up to create the bath.

I can't seem to find any waste outlets specifically designed for this. I'm worried that if I use a typical bath waste outlet then any water run-off that seeps through the tiles/grout underneath onto the membrane will not have the usual escape route down the waste outlet as you would on a normal tiled bathroom floor.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Bas

I've just been to the hardware store and think I may have a solution. Here are a few happy snaps. Feedback much appreciated!

Here's the troublesome component:

So I found this:

And replaced the top metal bit with a smaller one:

My logic is that if I ensure the membrane 'falls' onto the white plastic bit then that will take care of moisture/water run-off into the waste outlet. Only questions now are whether it's ok to tile over the top of that white plastic bit? And should I remove that black rubber bit?
