Hi all,

Any suggestions as to how I can make this arrangement less wide. It’s going to get boxed off but am wondering if I can save a bit more floor space. I can’t really plumb in upstream from here without making the nearest wastewater go uphill.

Many thanks,

D

Many thanks, this is to the left of the original pic.
Shower waste combining with basin water (which is the second visible 40mm neatest the wall.
Previously this was hidden under the old shower tray but the shower waste was on a positive incline, one of the reasons there are a few new floor boards under here! I can’t see a way to plumb in under the tray and maintain a negative fall, hence the ugly arrangement above

Upgrade to 2" waste, and connect the shower tray in under the tray. You'd be better off replacing it with solvent welded pipework too, especially if you're boxing in.

Cheers Hugh,

how would I connect in the shower waste to the 50mm? It’s all v close close together and there’s not much room for connectors etc

Worst case scenario, change the shower trap for one with a straight outlet, then use a 2" 45° junction, with reducer in the branch and short section of 40mm pipe between the two.

Reckon there’s room? It’s snug!
