We are trying to refurb our bathroom the waist pipe is internal and goes out through ceiling. It needs replacing as the connection for toilet is too high... The toilet used to be on a platform.
Is it easy to replace? how do we remove part of pipe out of roof and put new one in? the drain centre said we can cut original metal waste pipe use an attachment a re place pipe through ceiling, but does this mean that we need to take slates off roof?
hope some one can help.
Thank you

you need a pro. plumber for that- one who can make and fit a lead slate for the new pipe as well as cutting out part of the stack - in fact you need a man + mate with the weight of the old iron  You don`t need a Registered Gas Installer ;) Yes it`s easy if you know how. You might get away with replacing a section - it depends where the pipe ends with "ears" and pipe nails fixing to wall are - If the top part thru roof is supported you could renew part under it
