Hi there

just bought flat<first time buyer> have been up into the loft space, seen daylight coming through, checked looks as if some slates have moved, also there some damage to the wood that the slates are nailed into, is this a big job to replace, I have a bucket collecting the water at present, which is a smail amount.

is it a question of moving the slates over, how does the wood get repaired?

If its a flat then maintenance of the roof is normally covered under the lease, thus costs shared with all flats.

could the slate be moved back into place and the hole in wood repaired from the inside or does the slates have to be removed at this part of the roof and the wood replaced?

Has to be done from outside  who`s the freeholder

its a one storey flat, Im the upper flat and theres someone below who also owns their property, I guess its shared liabity, can the slates be moved to cover the hole and the wood repaired from the inside instead of strippiing it?
