Water-soaked plaster any good?

I'm replacing a bath.

Having removed the old one and the various tiles that were loose, it is clear that the plaster beneath is soaked. Presumably from leaking sealant and through the grout of the loose tiles.

My query is: is the plaster shot? Or will it dry out? Has it lost it's strength? Can it be remedied perhaps by adding watered-down SBR etc?
I realise that the idealists among us will say to remove the whole lot; re-plaster and re-tile but I can't afford the time or the disturbance to do this. It is in an occupied residence and the chap is currently without a bath / shower. I'd ideally like it sorted and back up and running asap.

Thanks
