Water softener

I recently installed a 'tap works' salt tablet water softener and have been told it may have a detrimental effect on my boiler. Apaarently reacts with some aluminum alloys.

I have a potterton suprima 60l boiler. Any one know of any history?

shouldn't really be a problem, make sure you got inhibitor in the system. your boiler heat exchanger is cast iron.
