Hi all, I have a situation where I think water is tracking along an external pipe, and then in through the wall causing damp.

It's a 22mm gas pipe that exits through a solid brick wall, then travels externally upwards on the outside of the wall.

Water is dripping off the pipe inside, where it enters.

I think it's rain that is running down the outside of the pipe, and in through the wall.

I am thinking silicon round the pipe where it enters the wall, but are there any better ideas? As I said, it's a gas pipe, so I don't really want to start hacking out mortar or cutting it to fit a collar or a drip loop.

Thanks

A gas pipe through a wall should be sleeved and the sleeve open to the outside (can be sealed on the inner face).

Use silicone or suchlike to form a drip around the pipe off the wall face, to cast off any running water.

It is sleeved, but not open to the outer face- the wall has been pebbledashed, and they were not very careful about where they did it.

Post a photo of the outside please.

You may have to chip off a bit of pebbledash, or make a drip inducer

I was wrong, turns out they didn't block it!
