Waterproofing garage floor for utility

Hi

I was just wondering what paint is recommended instead of a dpm sheet.

my existing utility room is just tiles on top of the garage slab so I want to paint over the top then insulate and screed

the reason I don’t want to use dpm is that there is quite a few pipes coming through and I can see this area been a cock up with a plastic sheet

What sort of tiles- vinyl or ceramic?
Don't get worked up about DPM having holes for pipes in it, unless your local water table is really high it'll be fine with cut and tape around them

They are the old red clay floor tiles about 20 mm thick

Leave them if you want, the insulation will spread the load on them.
