wots the best weedkiller on the market ( for the allotment ) tried round up didnt know if there is anything stronger,cheers guys

Roundup is about as good as you'll get. Remember it takes time to work (up to 3 weeks!) as it acts on the roots.

there are a variety of Glyphosate weedkiller, they all really work, and kill the roots, though some large persistent plants may need repeated applications. The own-brands at big retailers like Homebase and Tesco are usually identical to expensive brands because the patent expired ten years ago, but read the label carefully. Concentrate is far cheaper than "mixed ready to use"

Roundup is a premium-priced Glyphosate weedkiller though you can read their advertising website without finding this fact.

If you have a large area to cover a sprayer can be applied, lightly, at a higher concentration so needs fewer trips to the tap. (always read the manufacturer's instructions)

Fast-acting weedkillers seem to be off the retail market now Paraquat was withdrawn in Europe in 2007n as it is very toxic in the agricultural liquid concentrate (though not in the retail gardener's pack)
