Have you noticed any fungal growth around the base in the autumn? I'm also in Norfolk & we lost our beautiful 50 year old Willow, a juvenile Ash & a Crab Apple tree to Honey fungus last year just 2 years after noticing the fungus in autumn; I didn’t pay any attention to it or know what t was at the time. Once infected, the tree & any other tree nearby is in serious danger; have the electric company been trimming your trees clear of their cables in the last 18 months?
