Weight which can be supported by plaster board?

I have, admittedly, in this thread continued to engage in a totally 'off-topic' discussion (essentially with you), but I think about issues which might be of some interest or value to others.
But that's alright because you find it interesting.

If only others were afforded the same privilege.

I asked something to which no one has a satisfactory answer but that apparently is of no interest to the adjudicator of such matters.

I would say that it's more generally "alright" than that since, on reflection, I was probably very wrong in describing my recent contributions as "totally off-topic". This thread is about the ability of plasterboard (hence also the associated fixings) to support a lighting fitting and my recent contributions to that discussion have been attempts to explain to people some off the issues associated with interpreting manufacturer's claims about 'weight-bearing capacity of fixings. I therefore thiink that that was essentially 'on-topic', and hence presumably of potential interest to those interested in the subject of this thread.

As I'm sure I wrote before, there was absolutely nothing wrong in your commenting/asking about how the name of a product came about. It is your subsequent arguing about the matter, over about 5 pages, which I would suggest has not been of much interest to many people (and, unusually, was such as to make me 'withdraw' from that discussion), and would seem to be very 'off-topic'

I'm not actually sure which Q you believe has been E.Dd :-)

I would suggest that an important thing to remember in relation to the discussions about 'words' is to "know when to stop" - and that to move on to arguing about 'the validity of arguing' may be particularly inappropriate.
