Hi,
We were at the house yesterday during the torrential down pour of rain and you could clearly see some of what might be causing the issue.
It has to be partly the flashing on the roof, a minor dripping cutter from the main roof and it does seem the floor in the she is slightly higher than the cupboard floor. Now people have mentioned this is a bad thing, but have not exactly said why. As for the damp walls we have not discovered what the issue is with that, unless it is just a knock on effect from the water getting in and not actualy rising damp.
Is there anyone that know why having a lower floor inside that cupboard is not good and how i would remedy the situation. The floor inside the shed is some kind of concrete/screeding and the floor inside the cupboard looks like screed or some kind.
I know the house is 1930's but how is the floor in the cupboard suspended as it is a solid floor and not made up of floor boarding like the reast of the house??? I am no expert so if you have any thoughts on this i am all ears.
Many thanks
Mandy
