We've all seen the nauseatingly cheery DIY 'cheeky chappies' on various daytime shows painting plaster that is clearly still wet, and one coat only, at that.
No doubt it goes horribly wrong once the production team are long gone.

Ive had a block wall freshly plastered. bottom coat and top coat.

It was finally polished today.

When can I safely paint it?

you would get a better response in the decorating or plastering forums.

but i would say wait till its fully dry then paint it.

it is clearly visible when a plastered wall dries out.

plaster or skim, when freshly applied is a solid light pink colour.

it then darkens as it sets.

it then starts to dry out and goes pale pink. the deepest areas take the longest.

paint it when all the surfaces are pale pink. ;)

thanks!

sorry for putting it in the wrong forum - not paying attention!
