Please help. I'm trying to fix a back to the wall toilet back to the wall but am struggling to fit the flush pipe. It's got a hidden cistern so it's just the water pipe showing through the tiled wall.

The cistern is only accessible from the top so I can't hold it while I push the toilet on.

Am I missing something really simple?

A block of wood cut to be the right thickness to fit between the wall and the pipe to stop the pipe moving backwards when you push the toilet onto it.

Hang the block in place with two lengths of string. One string each side of the cistern so you can move it up down and sideways to place it in the right place between pipe and wall
