Guys,

A friend says i have paramount partition walls in my house, but im not sure if they really are.

The partition is about 110mm thick, it has a thick layer of plaster 25mm thick at each side and a plaster honeycomb structure inside. Its also pretty solid.

What is this?

Thanks

Confuscious say "man who not sure what friend say, should live in house with ricepaper walls"

It does sound like paramount board. It came in a few different thicknesses.... How old is your house? Is this board fitted to the inside of the external walls only, of your house? What are the internal partition walls made of? Was your house built by George Wimpey, builders? So many questions. :)

house was buit in 1955, it is only used as partition walls, between living room/dining room/hallway, and upstairs between bedroom1/bedroom2/bedroom3, it was built by lawrence!

external walls are solid brick with about 25mm of plaster over the top

Thanks for that RS/C .I was only asking because George Wimpey and probably others, built (shuttered and poured) houses and flats out of "no fines" concrete. The internal side of the external walls were clad with Paramount(egg boxed inside) boarding. These gave a very good amount of soundproofing and warmth, against the cold concrete walls they were fixed to.These were then taped. Most of the "no fine" structures that I worked on were blocks of flats. They were just concrete shells.
