Hi, I’m struggling to shut off the water to a failed triton shower that won’t shut off

It’s a screwdriver slot type valve in a really awkward place.
Ive come across this several times, sometimes these things won’t turn, sometimes they start leaking when you turn them!

I’m thinking of replacing it , are there any types of valves that won’t fail over time?

I think it would need to be full bore for an electric shower?

Thanks

But they require more room .

It’s worth getting a quality brand like peggler, with full bore. The opening and. Losing action is smoother so less chance of knackering the screw slot over time. Gap length between the pipes may vary so check it’s a like for like swap or be prepared to cut some pipe if there’s no slack.
