Hi guys.

Need some help measuring my stairs.

My stairs have two short flights ( 7 steps each )
In a sort of X shape.

i've drawn a basic example using paint
it includes all the measurements aswell.

if you could take a look and tell me what it equals it will be a huge help.
Im ordering online and want to make sure its right.

What do you mean by "tell me what it equals"?
If the drawing is a design for some new stairs. the rise of 12" is too much; 220mm is the normal maximum.
Is the total rise really 16 feet?

sorry should have made it clear.

The measurements are all rounded to the nearest foot for easy calculations to sq feet.

sorry for the confusion.
by equal i mean total sq ft?

cheers again!

we need to know for what use
this is not a normal question
so suggests to us you are unsure what you need to ask :D :D
so what use are you putting the information to ??
the trades or department needing the information may help 8)

aaahh the penny has dropped
if you are ordering a stair your measurements must be exact overall you cannot just round off as they wont fit

I knew I would have been better getting the exact measurements
Its a second home, so its empty at the moment.
However if I do end up going over today I shall post the exact measurements.

** its for a carpet. If that makes any difference? **

thats easy
the total height plus total length plus 7% or 10%[patterned]
you only need to measure horizontaly and vertically

in this case the floor height down stairs to floor height up stairs
plus the distance from the landing wall horizontally to both up and down stairs to the point the carpet will terminate

is the landing 3ft ??

if you showed this to a decent carpet shop the can work it out
if all your measurement are rounded up your fine if some are rounded down you may have problems

your total width is governed by the width off the landing plus enough carpet to curve round the step an tuck in behind
