What are you watching on TV right now?

On catchup, I watched the docu, about when during WWII, Churchill drew up plans to make the UK and France one single nation. Interesting, I never knew that.

Manhunt on Channel 4 On Demand. Similar to 24 hrs in Police Custody. If you like true crime, as I do, it's pretty compelling stuff.

I'm watching Elementary. Again! I like it much more than Sherlock.

She's watching Call the Midwife

In the back of a moving ambulance, some woman giving birth and nobody is wearing a seatbelt.

Midway - Film 4, trying to watch, the audio is absolutely terrible. Our normal level is around 20, to hear the words it has to be turned up to 50, but the sound effects then are absolutely deafening. CGI is equally bad..
It's called 'progress' Harry. Funny how films from decades ago the audio is generally fine (including speech) but many modern films and tv progs you can't make out a word they say. No doubt folk who work in that industry would try to convince me why it is that way (ah but you see, what you don't realise is ...) all I know is this, if we need to slap the subs on to follow the plot, the sound can be classified as sh1te.

Really?
I'd love to be in the room when that proposal was put to de Gaulle.

Sacré Bleu!

It was an idea put forward by Churchill, early in the war, when the French were losing, and the UK was under potential threat of invasion.
He must've cooked up that mad notion on his second bottle of Bolly after a long luncheon. He used to drive his senior staff up the wall with crazy ideas, and the General Staff would quietly hide memos to prevent the wildest getting any further.
