Hi all,

suspended timber floor in a small utility / cloakroom. There is a toilet, basin, washing machine and tumble drier there. I want to lay vinyl or laminate planks. There is minimal spring in the floor.
1. What underlay or boarding is needed.
2. Are vinyl planks or laminate planks better in this scenario?

thanks in advance for your advice

Mutley56, good evening.

My preference would be to fix [say] 15.mm ply a Sub-Floor,

The ply will take out any uneven areas of the old T&G and assist in preventing squeaking boards.

As for Laminate. versus Laminate planks?? given the area you could expect a small volume of water to be spilled, the ability of the floor finish material you choose should take account of that scenario.
