Not a good idea taking the solid 6243Y 1.0mm into the boiler though.
Best to terminate and connect to boiler using 3184Y Flex 0.75mm.

I normally take the 6243Y (stat wire) into the Fused Connection Unit, then take a 3185Y 0.75mm (5 core flex) to the boiler.

I assume it's a Combi or System Boiler.

If the boiler and supply are already in, you can isolate and install thermostat.

Not a part P requirement or corgi.

The part P wording is:

"New central heating control wiring installations are notifiable even where work in kitchens and bathrooms is avoided"

Its not a new installation from what I read, it's an existing installation.
So I would term it as an add on to the existing installation/system.
The installation can be safely isolated at the fcu, don't see a problem.
I certainly would not be issuing a part p certificate and insurance for that.

However I do around 12 new heating control installations a week and they all have DIC, Part P and Insurance warranty.
