what cable to buy for lighting?

I know its not ideal, control wouldnt like it and ill lose heat ....
And you will lose your roof if damp sets in.
Your insurance won't cover you.
Then think about how are you going to scoop out the insulation to create the necessary vacant area around the down light - from a 60mm hole - then multiply that by 15.
I like down lights and respect home owners decisions- but what you are proposing is crazy!

Only problem with that is the ceiling is pretty low already..

the joists are 150mm, I was planning on putting in 100mm insulation boards. I now think i could do that, however in the joists which have downlights, use 50mm which should give enough room for downlights..! or even 100mm then use 50mm just over the light.

this would give the 50mm void above as well as below for light
