What small car would you buy with a £2000 budget

just needed for a few miles everyday and a few motormay runs now and again. Only need 2+2 seats.

thx in advance

Nissan Micra, Toyota Yaris (privately owned with low mileage), some reasonable Peugeot 206's about (base models).......the list is quite endless really!
Definitely non rental or driving school vehicles, so check the history.
Just about every manufacturer has some decent models in this price range, apart from anything Italian (personal bias)!
John :)

My personal preference would be a Clio.
Have had several in the family and all been excellent.

If you can get a 1.4 zetec focus in your price range i would higly recomend one of those, cheap tax, insurance and good on fuel. Seldom go wrong and when they do all the service/repair parts are fairly cheap,

as said though we could recomend you any car but if its been owned by a 17yr old boyo or a driving school etc its going to be a bad choice!

just used the "Which" car finder for you, used superminis, up to £2k, best first

Toyota Yaris (1999-2005) 60% (this is the top scorer)

Skoda Fabia (2000-2007) 55%
Citroën C3 (2002-2010) 53%
Ford Fiesta (2002-2008) 50%

all the following score less than 50%:
Hyundai Getz (2000-2009) 49%
Suzuki Wagon R+ (2000-2007) 49%
Vauxhall Corsa (2000-2006) 48%
Vauxhall Agila (2000-2007) 46%
Suzuki Ignis (2000-2008) 43%
Peugeot 206 (1998-2009) 43%

not very good at all:
Renault Clio/Clio Campus (1998-2008) 39%
Ford Ka (1996-2008) 37%
Chevrolet Kalos (2005-2008) 32%
Nissan Micra (1993-2002) 27%
Fiat Punto (1999-2006) "don't buy"
Rover 200/25/Streetwise (1995-2005 "don't buy"

My woman has a Corolla which is very good but is a "medium" not Supermini (is roomier and more comfortable, good to drive). If you see one in your price range, have a look.

Mazda 323f you can pick then up for a couple of grand on a 51/52 plate with low milage, I have had one for 6 years now, nice little car.

I don't know how the Which poll is scored, but it's obvious from all the differing posts that it comes down to personal choice.
However, the Yaris upholds the Japanese suggestion, but remenber there's good and bad in every car.
In that price range I'd try to buy a car from someone you know if at all possible to try and eliminate the rouge element. ;)

You could get a McCoy, getting a bit rare now.....

Hi Terry have you got one yet? I may know of one comming up next easter..
