What Do Professional Plumbers Think Of Push Fit?

I was surprised when I saw it used, it wont use any of it in my house, I prefer copper.
I keep a few push fit joints in the cellar - not sure why :)

To add to Bodds rules, there is the scratch scenario mentioned earlier. If you scratch the exterior of the pipe, and joint it where a scratch is extant, you invalidate the pipe warranty, whether it's 25 years or 50 years.

Now, how easily does plastic pipe get abrasions on the exterior surface? Pulled it through a hole in a joist? Dragged it across the floor? Yep, I thought so.

The manufacturers suggest taping up the ends to protect them from abrasions whilst pulling through the building fabric. I see heating and bathroom fitters doing this all the time.

Not.
