What Exterior Primer/Cover For Brickwork?

The previous owner of my property decided to paint the house in dark red

I would like to change this to either cream or white

As the colour is red, I assume that I will need a primer/covering paint prior to my topcoat

However, I an not sure what is a suitable primer/cover to use. Ideally, I would something which allows the brick to breathe

Looks like Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 will do the trick
