what filling for shelf support bolts?

I have used some M8 threaded rod for fixing some floating shelves, and it seems sensible to use some filler when finally pushing the shelves onto the support bolts.

Not sure if mastic would be the right filler or weather some harder adhesive might be more suited. It would make removing them a lot more difficult though.

Anybody familiar with this ?

drill your holes into the wall down at a 2 degree angle to lift up the front shelve edge
fill the holes with no nails type adhesive [sticks like sh 1te for example]
put a level on the shelve and temporary prop up or add weight as nessisery to level the shelve
leave for about 12 hrs to set
