I've tried Superglue Precision and All Plastics but the flex of the acrylic (?) flap keeps breaking it at the glued sections, even though I removed the cover and glued it at room temp.

What can I use that will be stable inside a domestic freezer.. oh and not fumigate all the food and me?

Thanks.

get some acrylic offcuts

glue the panel back together then cut acrylic patches
then glue the whole surface
if the surface has an arc cut thinner strips to accommodate the arc

Use a soldering iron & fuse the pieces together, wont look smart, but it will work.

I like both ideas.

I'll dig out my school-days soldering iron.

Is there any way to determine what plastic the draw cover/flap is made from? I guess the glue I need to add plastic strengthening over the soldered sections will depend on the plastic. I've searched for the info and found mentions of acrylic, polystyrene and polycarbonate. The freezer is ancient and I can't find any mention of it via Google, therefore spares are out of the question, as is any mention of the type of plastic used.

Would any of these be suitable for the glue?:
Evo-stik Serious Glue - -30deg to + 130deg
Two-part plastic welder
Solvent weld
Marine epoxy

Its probable ABS or could be polythene.
You need a solvent NOT a glue.
Chloroform is what we used to use in my model making days.
Edit
Chloroform is for Perspex.
Toluene is the ABS solvent

superglue is fine as long as you have a large surface area to spread the load
all the patches i have put on go full width and full height where possible
