There is a problem with too many people being diagnosed with relatively mild mental health disorders qualifying them for PIP.

I don’t think that is performative cruelty.

However there changes they want to do to with the physical elements of PIP would make lives of some people harder and that’s not right.


On small boats / asylum seekers, I’m not sure I see any of their policies as cruelty. For example moving asylum seekers from hotels to military bases is probably a good thing really, those super expensive hotel contracts set up by Tories need to end.

I am sure you realise that if Labour don’t have robust policies to tackle the crisis, then we will get Reform who will indeed be cruel.
